Welcome Address and Report

Honourable Chief Guest Thiru. P. Kumar, Member of Parliament, Tiruchiapalli Constituency, Distinguished Guests of Honour Rev. Thiru. Subramania Swamigal, Thiru Murugan Aanathanam Thirusabhai, Madhavathur, Pudukkottai, Thiru. R. A. Krishna Kumar Executive Director, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd., and Chairman of CII, trichy Zone, President Sri Inder Narain Choudhari, Secretary Sri Inderchand Lall, The Principals and Teaching Faculty of various colleges, Special Invitees, Members of Fourth Estate, Trustees of RWA Educational & Health Charitable Trust, Members of Rock City Welfare Association, and my Dear Students.

I deem it a great privilege to welcome everyone gathered here for this 18th Books distribution function on behalf of RWA Educational & Health Charitable Trust, and the RWA Book Bank Project. I extend our warm welcome to the Honorable Chief Guest Thiru Kumar, who in spite of various engagements has graced this function. We are deeply moved by the interest you show in this project of ours. We welcome you Sir.
I welcome our Guests of honour Rev. Thiru. Subramania Swamigal & Thiru. Krishna Kumar who has been kind enough to honour our invitation and could make it possible to attend this function.

I also take the honour of welcoming the Distinguished Guests, the Principals and the Teaching Faculty of various colleges, the Trustees of our Trust, the members of our Association, Members of the Press and all the Students from various colleges who have been our source of inspiration and support.

A vacuum has been created. We have lost a strong pillar of support in the loss of our beloved Dr. Sekar. We the members of Rockcity Welfare Association and the student community of Trichy would miss him a lot.

It is at the Book Bank we always strive to help all those who come to us for text books. We have a dream to see that every deserving and needy student get the text books to study. We have a dream to see that they be self-reliant.

And so in all due modesty I say, this is our hope. With this faith we continue to serve the students community. With this faith we believe that we can transform their future. When we first started we could help only 107 students. We acquired powerful support from our donors and we are in a position to help 1500 students every year. I assure you that we look into the future in perfect tranquility and great confidence that this project will go on for ever.

We hereby announce that 1395 students will be receiving books this year. These students represent 12 colleges and about 15 disciplines of Under Graduate Studies. Our beneficiaries have been performing exceedingly well. Today 23 students would be receiving prizes and out of them Six would be getting cash prize .

We would not be in a position to help these many students but for the spontaneous contribution by our donors who value the education the most.

Any accomplishment requires the effort of many people and this work is not different. I sincerely thank the donors, the members of RWA, The Management of Shrimathi Indira Gandhi College for being magnanimous enough to provide us with all the help to organize this function. We would also like to recognize the effort of our staff Mrs. Krishnaveni and Ms. Priya Darshini . I thank the Principals and the staff in charge of all the colleges who have contributed their valuable time and service towards this project. I also thank the members of the Press . I thank all those who have helped me to discharge my duties as a Chairman of the Book Bank. Thank you very much

I would like the students to ponder over thee famous words of Dr. Abdul Kalam: " Without your involvement you can't succeed. With your involvement you can't fail. "
